The Clash at Daytona TicketsSince 1979 the NASCAR season has opened with an exhibition race at the Daytona International Speedway. Known originally as the Busch Clash, it was sponsored by Anheuser-Busch and promoted the Busch brand. From 1997 through 2011, Anheuser-Busch's Budweiser brand served as the race sponsor. The event has also been designated as the Sprint Unlimited. For 2020, Busch has returned as the race sponsor, which will now be known as The Clash at Daytona. It opens the 2020 season on Sunday, February 9. Buddy Baker won the inaugural Busch Clash in 1979, turning the 20 laps at an average of 194.384 mph. Bill Elliott set the race record in 1987 at 197.802 mph. Dale Earnhardt won this race six times. Dale Jarrett won four times. Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin have three wins each. This year's Clash will be a 75-lap event. Details of the format have not been announced. The 2019 Clash was a 75-lap event that was run in two segments with a competition break at Lap 25. Who is eligible to race in the Clash at Daytona?NASCAR has set the criteria for the entry in the 2020 Clash at Daytona based on performance from past events. The field will consist of 2019 season pole winners, past Clash winners who competed full-time in 2019, Daytona 500 pole and race winners who competed full-time in 2019 and drivers who qualified for the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. Based on these limits, 20 drivers are eligible to compete in the 2020 Clash at Daytona. They include Aric Almirola, Ryan Blaney, Alex Bowman, Clint Bowyer, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, William Byron, Austin Dillon, Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Daniel Hemric, Jimmie Johnson, Erik Jones, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Larson, Joey Logano, Ryan Newman, Daniel Suarez and Martin Truex Jr.
