Inspired by the grandeur of Fontainebleau and Versailles Palaces, the Cadillac Palace Theatre opened as the New Palace Theatre on Oct. 4, 1926. Locally known simply as "The Palace," the theater once hosted the likes of Jimmy Durante, Mae West and Bob Hope. Renamed the Cadillac Palace in 1999 after extensive restorations, its interior features large mirrors and gold, brass and wood dŽcor. During World War II, the theater's interior spaces were painted white to disguise the brass dŽcor. This successfully deceived the government, who was taking brass from buildings to use as ammunition. Over the years, the Cadillac Palace Theatre has served as a movie theater, rock music venue and stage to Broadway musicals. The venue is home to hits, such as Mamma Mia, Disney's The Lion King and Oprah's The Color Purple. Grab your tickets to Cadillac Palace Theatre events at StubHub.
