Cage Warriors Fighting Championship Tickets
First established in 2001, the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship is a mixed martial arts event that began by staging its bouts in London. Founded by Dougie Truman and with Casimir Knight as its Chief Executive Officer, the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship is a combative spectacle that has caught on in many countries, including those in Europe, the Middle East and North America. In 2012 and 2013 alone, the fighting franchise staged 26 separate events in no less than 12 different countries around the world. An Irishman by the name of Graham Boylan took over the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship from 2010.
Like other combat sports, the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship is split into weight categories. Nine of these are reserved for male competitors and one is for females; the women's bantamweight championship. Men fight in the categories of super heavyweight, heavyweight, light heavyweight and middleweight. At the lower end of the scale are welterweight, lightweight, featherweight and bantamweight, with flyweight being the lightest weight category of all.
Cage Warriors Fighting Championship's rules
Like other mixed martial arts fighting events, the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship follows a set of unified rules that were originally set out in the United States. Although championship bouts consist of five rounds, all others are made up of three five-minute rounds. Light gloves that allow for grabbing are permissible, but no footwear or padding is allowed. Referees can stop fights that have descended into a stalemate. Fighters are permitted a one-minute rest period after a round has ended.
In order to win a fight in a Cage Warriors Fighting Championship event, competitors must secure a knockout or a technical knockout, in much the same way as is found in boxing. As in wrestling, a submission may be gained if the opponent taps on the floor to indicate that they have chosen to give up. Many bouts are decided by a panel of judges, however. They may decide to award a unanimous or split decision as to the victor. If two of the three judges score a draw, then this is called a majority draw, while a split draw occurs when the judges' total points indicate a dead heat, even if a fighter scored a win on individual points.
Cage Warriors Fighting Championship's stars
