Charlie And The Chocolate Factory Chicago Tickets
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Chicago TicketsBased on British author Roald Dahl's 1964 classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, this mystical tale for children in age or children at heart has been a literary and cinematic mainstay for many families for the last five decades. After first appearing on the big screen in 1971, this fantasy tale found its way back into the mainstream with the 2005 cinematic remake starring Johnny Depp directed by Tim Burton. Now, the tale of young, poverty-stricken Charlie Bucket earning a golden ticket into the mystical candy land of Willy Wonka is coming to the Windy City during its nationwide theatrical tour. Though Charlie and his family have very little money, they are certainly rich in love. Join him and his peers, some who are far more well behaved than others, on this whimsical jaunt through the elaborate candy factory of the eccentric Willy Wonka.
Imagination Come to LifeDahl penned the original story of Charlie and a host of other children touring the chocolate factory based on memories of growing up in Britain during the 1920s. The renowned candy company Cadbury would send samples of new candies to the country's schools to gauge the interest in the product from local children. It was a poorly kept secret that both Cadbury and a competing chocolate company, Rowntree, would try to secretly send spies into each other's factories to obtain trade secrets. Dahl managed to combine the cut-throat business of candy making with the fantasies that filled his young mind to produce a classic novel that has inspired the likes of Time magazine to include the novel on its list of 100 Best Young-Adult Books of All Time. The story has now been re-imagined as a musical, including songs from the beloved 1971 film to bring the story to life on stage in front of audiences around the country.
