Chartway Arena, also known as the "Ted," is an arena on the campus of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. The building's design is the brainchild of Rossetti, Michigan architecture firm. Erected in 2000 and opened two years later, Chartway Arena is a multi-purpose arena hosting arts, entertainment, conferences and local sporting events. The Old Dominion men's basketball team calls it home. Chartway Arena events featuring prestigious ODU wrestling matches and assorted lectures are common as well. In 2012, Chartway Arena hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA Women's Division 1 Basketball Tournament. Top draw artists and shows frequently schedule tour stops at the "Ted," such as Elton John, Jeff Dunham and Sesame Street.
