Chesapeake Bayhawks Info
Returning to the sidelines as head coach for the first time in three years in 2018, Dave Cottle led the Bayhaws (9-5) back into the playoffs after a four-year absence. However, in its return to the postseason, Charlotte came up a goal short against the Denver Outlaws in the semifinals, 13-12. The good news for 2019 and beyond? The team has extended midfielder Ryan Tucker for another three years, and attackman Jack Doyle for at least another season. Tucker has established himself as one of league’s best players when it comes to scoring from the two-point arc. Added to the Bayhawks via a trade with the Atlanta Blaze in 2017, he played in 12 games last season, registering 16 goals, three two-point goals and a pair of assists.

About Major League Lacrosse
In 1999, Jake Steinfeld (as in “Body By Jake”), Dave Morrow and Tim Robertson joined forces to form Major League Lacrosse. MLL began play in 2001, capitalizing on the growing demand for world-class field lacrosse in the US lacrosse market. Heralded for its up-tempo style of play and innovative approach, which includes a 60-second shot clock and a two-point arc 16 yards from the goal line, the league proved a near-instant success. The league originally consisted of six teams, the Baltimore Bayhawks, Boston Cannons, Bridgeport Barrage, Long Island Lizards, New Jersey Pride and Rochester Rattlers, which were divided into the American and National Divisions. Some of the greatest athletes in the history of the sport have played in the MLL, including John Grant, Jr., Casey Powell, the Gait brothers and Greg Cattrano. Today, the league consists of nine teams: the Bayhawks, Cannons, Atlanta Blaze, Charlotte Hounds, Dallas Rattlers, Denver Outlaws, Florida Launch, New York Lizards and Ohio Machine.
