Nicholas James Murphy, who performs under the name Chet Faker, grew up in Australia, where he started listening to an eclectic mix of artists from a young age, from Bob Dylan to Motown music. He scored his big break in 2011 when he covered the Blackstreet song, "No Diggity." His debut EP, "Thinking in Textures" (2012), proved that Chet Faker was so much more than just a talented vocalist – he was also one of the most distinctive songwriters and producers in the independent music scene.
