The Chicago Dogs is one of the newest franchises competing in the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball league. This minor league team is named after Chicago's best-known culinary treat, the Chicago hot dog. The Chicago Dogs' logo includes the stars and colors of the city's flag. All the Chicago DogsÕ home games are played at Impact Field in Rosemont, Illinois. Former Boston Red Sox manager Butch Hobson is taking the helm as the manager of the team. He brings over 30 years of experience to this new team. Squeeze is the official mascot of the club. He resembles a fuzzy squeeze bottle of mustard and makes an appearance at every game. Play Ball With Chicago's Newest Team
The Chicago Dogs play in the North Division of the AAIPB. This independent baseball league was founded in 2005, and the teams are located in the central region of the United States and Canada. While the teams are not affiliated with major league clubs, they actively recruit college and former pro players. There are two divisions in the league, each consisting of six teams. The Chicago Dogs played the team's first season in 2018. Their home park, Impact Field, was designed exclusively for the team. They are slowly starting to build rivalries with other teams in the division. The Chicago Dogs' schedule frequently features games against the Gary SouthShore RailCats at US Steel Yard and the Milwaukee Milkmen at Routine Field. The Chicago Dogs finished in third place in the division during their inaugural season.Back to Top
