Citi Field is where the New York Mets play their home games. The team moved over from Shea Stadium once Citi Field was completed in 2009. For many years prior, the Mets had been pushing to have a new stadium built. It took several years of negotiations and political maneuverings before the city of New York finalized its plans. In its first few seasons, the ball park was known for favoring the pitcher because of its large field and high left field wall. Changes were made in 2012 and in 2015 to make it more friendly to hitters. Citi Field can fit 41,922 guests in its green seats, and it's held lacrosse and soccer games as well as concerts.
