Demob Happy Tickets
Brighton-based rockers Demob Happy demand your attention
Demob Happy is an 'in your face', freewheeling foursome based in Brighton, United Kingdom. Applying an entrepreneurial spirit, they use their interest in a café and a converted bus dubbed 'the Demobile' to host gigs squarely aimed at the university crowd and 20-somethings thirsty for their grunge-infused, psychedelic rock creations. Demob Happy tickets are available now for purchase or for sale via StubHub.
Career-defining performances and two successful UK tours
Originally formed in Newcastle in 2008, Matthew Marcantonio (vocals, bass), Adam Godfrey (guitar), Mathew Renforth (lead guitar) and Thomas Armstrong (drummer) decided to relocate to the UK south coast resort town of Brighton, which was a more ready-made environment for their particular sound. After opening a coffee shop called the Nowhere Man Café, which also doubled as a rehearsal space, the band released an EP, 'You Shook the Soul', in 2011 exclusively online and followed up that summer with a career-defining performance at the 2011 Secret Garden Party Festival, where they solidified their reputation for wildly entertaining performances. Constantly at work writing and defining their sound, Demob Happy finally released their first album 'Dream Soda' in 2015 then immediately took to the festival circuit (Reading and Leeds Festivals) and a tour of the UK in support of the album. Often compared to Queens of the Stone Age and Kings of Leon, these lads aim to make a splash of their own, much like the group Tigercub, with whom they conducted a second UK tour in 2016. Relish the raw energy of Demob Happy
Prior to the commencement of the Tigercub tour, Demob Happy lead guitarist Mathew Renforth quit the band, however, they never lost a beat reorganising as a trio and completed the tour, much to the relief of their fans. The singles 'Doom Dreamers' and 'Be Your Man' were among those released in the 2017 before the new incarnation of Demob Happy offered its second studio album, 'Holy Doom', early in 2018. The first single from the album was rather appropriately titled 'Less is More' and the group's continued popularity and force as a show stopper is proof of just that, with Demob Happy named part of the Jack White tour of the United Kingdom that autumn. This band has been known for causing a bit of a racket and are not shy about being a bit rowdy, so be prepared for a raucous performance that's sure to be accompanied by much audience participation that could go either way. If you're a headbanger with a penchant for pure unadulterated grunge, then this is sure to be right up your alley. Demob Happy tickets are ready now to buy or sell via StubHub.
