More about the Ticket Galaxy 200
This race is part of the Xfinity Series playoffs. As the penultimate race of the Xfinity Series schedule, the stakes are high for drivers. A driver who wins this race secures a berth in the National Championship at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This leads to drivers willing to take a gamble in order to improve their playoff positioning. Desperate drivers lead to exciting racing. There's no other track exactly like Phoenix on the Xfinity Series schedule. The track is similar in style to a short track, but the dogleg on the backstretch adds several additional turns to the track, which means that there are more places where a driver can find trouble. The turns, along with the shorter distance of the track and the minimal banking on the turns, keep drivers from being able to pick up too much speed on the track.
The Ticket Galaxy 200 experience
November features some of the best weather in Arizona for fans to enjoy the racing. Average high temperatures are around 70 degrees. The November race weekend has proven to be an incredibly popular draw among NASCAR fans. The Cup Series race usually sells out, and the Xfinity Series race always draws a big crowd as well. The track always ensures that there's ample entertainment for fans all weekend long, including a variety of music acts. Most fans who purchase tickets for the Ticket Galaxy 200 end up staying the entire weekend and attending the Cup Series race.
The history of the Ticket Galaxy 200
This race has been held since 1999 when NASCAR added a second event to the schedule. Jeff Gordon won the inaugural version of this race. Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch have each won four versions of this race as Busch dominates seemingly every Xfinity Series race in which he competes. Joe Gibbs Racing has been dominant in this race too, winning five of seven races from 2012 to 2018. The 2018 version of this race was won by Christopher Bell, who enjoyed a strong season in the Xfinity Series as a rookie.
