Devos Performance Hall is part of the Devos Place Convention Center, named after local philanthropist Richard Devos. The hall is on the south side of the complex, and it's adjacent to Civic Auditorium. Built in 1980, it has been the long-time home of the Grand Rapids Symphony and Broadway Grand Rapids, which has featured hit musicals like Waitress. It also hosts concerts and special events. It was renovated in 2002 to have a more modern lobby, scrolling marquee, updated restrooms, enhanced lighting and refurbished seats. For any upcoming event, you can pick up Devos Performance Hall tickets at StubHub.
How many people can the hall accommodate?
Devos Performance Hall events can accommodate 2,543 guests. The Orchestra section is on the floor, the Mezzanine is up above and the Balcony is the highest tier of seating. Along the sides, there are box and loge seats as well as the gallery.
Are there any premium seats?
There are premium seats with prime theater locations, but these are generally only available to those who lease this service for the season. A lease starts at $200 per seat, and for each event, you'll have the opportunity to buy premium seats. The seats are randomly assigned to those who choose to purchase them.
Is there on-site parking?
The parking garage, which is directly under the convention center, is managed by the City of Grand Rapids. You can enter the garage on Michigan and Lyon Streets. There is also metered street parking in the surrounding areas. During most Devos Performance Hall events, you will pay a flat fee of $10.
Is public transportation available?
The DASH transit service travels throughout Downtown Grand Rapids, so around Devos Place, there are numerous opportunities to get dropped off or picked up. The DASH north and west routes may be convenient, depending on where you're coming from. The Silver Line is a complimentary service that you may be able to take to the theater as well.
Can I buy food and drinks at the hall?
The theater has concessions in the lobby. The concessions are managed by the neighboring Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, and they sell a wide variety of snacks and beverages.
Are bags permitted?
Only bags that are 14 inches by 14 inches by 6 inches or smaller are allowed into the Devos Performance Hall. All items will be inspected upon entry, and no outside food or beverages can be brought in.
What are some accommodations for people with disabilities?
Accessible parking is available in the Devos Place parking garage. Alternatively, guests can be dropped off directly in front of the theater if that's more convenient. Accessible seating is available, and companion tickets can be sold nearby. Guests who are hearing impaired can request telecoil hearing loops, which can transmit sound from the stage directly into their hearing devices.Back to Top
