Two-time Grammy Award nominee Dirty South, the stage name of Serbo-Australian DJ Dragan Roganovic, has evolved alongside the EDM movement, and his music falls into a number of categories, including progressive and electro-house. Dirty South's live performances have become even more impressive since his career-defining 2012 tour featuring his hit single "City of Dreams".
Dirty South history
Born in the former Yugoslavia, the artist now known as Dirty South got his start in the music industry at a young age. When he was 13, Roganovic's family moved to Melbourne, Australia, where he began experimenting with mixing music, eventually using keyboards and computers to compose his work.
His first major breakthrough came in 2004, when he turned a compilation of some of his favorite work into an official release under the name Dirty South. He was signed to the Vicious Vinyl label in 2005. Today, Dirty South enjoys international success and fame and has an extensive discography that is ever growing.
In summer of 2012, Dirty South released a popular track titled "City of Dreams". This track, which featured vocals from Ruben Haze, was produced in conjunction with the popular musician Alesso and helped to further Dirty South's popularity. Ultimately, the track reached No. 1 on the Beatport Top 100 list, all within the first week of being released. As a result of the popularity of this track, Dirty South launched a North American tour that included more than 30 stops from September 2012 through December of that same year.
