Touring cities across the United States, the Doo Wop Extravaganza is fast resurrecting a street-singing sound that first rose to popularity in the '50s and early '60s. Featuring a rotating lineup that regularly includes fixtures of the doo wop genre, including Jimmy Beaumont & the Skyliners, Lenny Welch & the Dubs, and Willie Winfield & the Harptones, the musical showcase transports ticket holders back to the era that saw JFK's presidency and the early ages of space exploration, as well as the Civil Rights Movement.

The Doo Wop Extravaganza is most frequently hosted by the NYCB Theatre in Westbury, N.Y., although the lineup has also traveled to venues in Bethlehem, Pa.; Staten Island, N.Y.; and Bethel, N.Y. Bringing together fixtures of the doo wop community, this warm and energizing night returns audience members to the '50s and '60s.

One especially popular group is The Marcels, perhaps best remembered for their doo wop rendition of the classic "Blue Moon."
