The Doo-Wop Spectacular is a musical event featuring popular 60s and 70s artists. With original band members from various groups performing, the Doo-Wop Spectacular is all about reliving the golden era of rock n’ roll, as well as “reminding everyone that Doo-Wop is feel good music no matter what your age.”
This Spectacular will feature bands such as Charlie Thomas & The Drifters, The Teenagers, The Mystics and Jimmy Gallagher & The Passions. Known as some of the greatest performers of their age, this Doo-Wop event is live and considered one of the biggest shows for old-age rock n’ roll.

Originally, Doo-Wop was a type of music that was created in African-American communities and then expanded into mainstream pop/rock. Focusing mostly on vocal abilities, these bands were known to have the biggest impact on the genre.
Charlie Thomas & The Drifters were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1998. The original Drifters were Russell Henry, Chuck Cockerham, Richard Dunbar, Vernon Taylor, Kingsley McIntosh and Joseph Turner. Their most popular songs include “Up on the Roof,” “Under the Boardwalk” and “Save the Last Dance for Me.”
The Teenagers, also known as The Coup De Villes, The Premiers or Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers, are considered one of the most popular and most lucrative Doo-Wop groups. The members include Jimmy Merchant, Herman Santiago, Frankie Lymon, Joe Negroni and Sherman Garnes. Popular songs include “Why Do Fools Fall in Love,” “I Promise to Remember” and “Goody Goody.”
The Mystics consist of Al Contrera, Albee Cracolici, Phil Cracolici, Bob Ferrante and George Galfo; they were inducted into the Music Hall of Fame in 2015. Popular songs include “Hushabye,” “Don’t Take the Stars” and “White Cliffs of Dover.”
Lastly, Jimmy Gallagher & The Passions were created in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Original members are Jimmy Gallagher, Albie Gallone, Vinnie Acierno, Tony Armato and Lou Rotondo. Popular songs include “Just to Be with You,” “Gloria” and “I Only Want You.” Many of their songs were on the Top 10 Charts during their era.
