Duquesne Dukes TicketsThe Duquesne Dukes have long been a big name in the world of football. The school's first football program started in 1891. It was an innovative team, developing home and away jerseys as well as hand signals that could be used by officials. There was a gap for almost 20 years in the football program's history. However, the school has had a football team continuously since 1969, when student-athletes re-formed a club team. The team rejoined the NCAA in 1979 as a Division III team. Early in its history, the Dukes were a storied team. Greats included Art Rooney, who eventually founded the Pittsburgh Steelers. Duquesne alum, Ray Kemp, went on to become one of the first African American players in the NFL. The Dukes were a successful, nationally-famous football team early in its existence, winning the 1934 Festival of Palms Bowl and the 1937 Orange Bowl. Since college football's division into conferences, the Dukes have won or shared 16 conference titles. The Dukes have not been invited to a major bowl game since the 1930s. StubHub is a great place to find tickets for Duquesne Dukes football, whether the team is playing at home or on the road.

Where do the Dukes play? The Duquesne Dukes play at Arthur J Rooney Athletic Field. Named for Duquesne alumnus and Pittsburgh Steelers founder Art Rooney, the field seats 2,200 people. Duquesne's campus is urban, which made any stadium a tight fit. The Dukes were not able to play games on campus from 1929 to 1993. Recent renovations cut the seating capacity at Rooney Field from 4,500 to 2,200. Renovations that will expand seating are already being discussed.
