Sprawling across 330 acres of the Coachella Valley not far from Palm Springs, California, Empire Polo Field is home to 12 polo grounds. Since its founding in 1987, the polo club has played host to local polo matches as well as national and international tournaments. In 2015 it hosted the first west coast appearance of the prestigious USPA (United States Polo Association) Townsend Cup. In 1993, the polo club began a yearly tradition of leasing its grounds to Goldenvoice. This group organized The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Stagecoach Festival, bringing outdoor concert venues to the grounds. A legendary rock festival called Desert Trip made an appearance in 2016. Empire Polo Field events at the Coachella festivals have been performances from such notables as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Rage Against the Machine and New Order. What kind of food and drinks can I buy?

All types of food from pizza, burgers and tacos to award-winning meals are available at the music festivals. The polo grounds feature a number of restaurants if you want a leisurely or elegant dining experience. Tack Room Tavern is popular with the standard sports club cuisine.
