It is an all-seater stadium that cost Û60 million to construct before opening in the summer of 2009. The facility can accommodate guests up to 40,500. The 2010 "Venue of the Year" awardee saw its record attendance in February 2011 when RCD Espanyol went up against Real Madrid. The house welcomed 40,240 fans during the said game.
