In addition to his many aliases, Yamaha also collaborates with other artists. For example, he has appeared on the recordings of Brainpower, a bilingual rapper. In addition to his work creating music, Yamaha is a record label owner in his own right. As Bron, he founded the Magnetron music label in 2005, which puts out records by similar electronic artists. Fatima Yamaha's bio
Bron was born of mixed Turkish and Japanese descent. In 2004, the musician released his first recording under his then new moniker of Fatima Yamaha. It was very well received in the music press, both in the UK and in his home country. The standout track from the EP was “What’s a Girl to Do”, which received plenty of plays in the UK among the country’s DJs. The EP was subsequently re-released in 2015, which approximately coincided with the artist’s first LP as Yamaha. Many in the UK's music press first picked up on “What’s a Girl to Do” after its re-release, and it has thus been referred to as one of the slowest-burning underground electronic hits in the country.
The album Imaginary Lives was followed up by a further EP by the artist, called Araya, of 2017. Both Arya and Imaginary Lives were put out on the Dekmantel label. The album included some standout tracks, such as “Love Invaders”, “Sooty Shearwater” and “Night Crossing”. During the tour that Yamaha conducted to promote the album, “What’s a Girl to Do” was played regularly, despite the fact that it did not feature on the LP.
