In the tradition of one of the most celebrated comedians of the 20th century, the Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater is an absolute staple of the Miami area, making it a haven for entertainment seekers of all kinds in more than a half-century of operation. The Fillmore is part of the Miami Beach Convention Center, which first opened in 1957, and the theater was originally known as the Miami Beach Auditorium, ultimately changing its name to the Jackie Gleason Theater in the Sixties, when legendary performer Jackie Gleason began filming the Jackie Gleason Show in the theater. In 2007, the theater was renovated and again changed its name to the Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater, taking inspiration from the legendary San Francisco venue. The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater is home to all of the biggest concerts to hit the Miami area, including past performances by Tori Amos, Lily Allen, Erasure, Jack White, Belle and Sebastian, David Gray, St. Vincent, Foster the People, Brand New, Interpol, Primus, and more.
