Releasing his first solo album, Sleep Is for the Weak, in 2007, Turner has a total of eight studio albums, several EPs and six compilation albums on the market. Three of his albums have reached the top five on the United Kingdom Official Albums Chart, and he is a popular performer attracting devoted fans to his live folk-punk concerts. His singles "I Still Believe," "The Way I Tend to Be" and "Polaroid Picture" climbed into the top 40 on the UK Singles Chart. Hard Working MusicianBorn in Manama, Bahrain, in 1981, Francis Edward Turner was raised in Meonstoke, Hampshire, England. Turner fell in love with metal music when he was young, and he began his music career with the band Kneejerk, a short-lived alternative band. Kneejerk played shows in the UK and released one full-length record, The Half-Life of Kissing. After Kneejerk, Turner joined Million Dead, a post-hardcore band, in 2001. The band released two albums. While he was still a part of Million Dead, Turner played some solo shows and decided to embark on a solo career once the band dissolved. Switching to a more acoustic sound than his former bands were known for, Turner's honest folk-punk music earned him a dedicated cult following. With over a decade of solo music under his belt, the singer-songwriter shows no signs of slowing down, releasing his eighth full-length studio album, No Man's Land, in 2019. The album's 13 tracks share stories about Turner's mom and 12 historical women.
