FRENSHIP tour dates
An electropop duo from the United States, James Sunderland and Brett Hite first experienced momentum in their career due to the track "Knives." They had uploaded the song to SoundCloud, gaining popularity online. Releasing on single after the next, FRENSHIP released their first EP in 2016, titled Truce. This EP was created in collaboration with Columbia Records.
Since their debut track, they have toured around the world, making stops in countries such as Spain, France, Italy and Australia. Playing shows of all sizes, they have offered fans more intimate shows, while also appearing at major festivals, such as the Lost Lake Festival and Lollapalooza, alongside Blink 182, Foster the People and Chance the Rapper. They have also stated that they gained some great advice from Macklemore when they first hit the scene, someone they looked up to.
While working in retail, this duo met and became fans of one another's music. Based out of Los Angeles, as they supported one another, they began to create music together. After finding online success, they released two more tracks, "Nowhere" and "Carpet" -- which premiered exclusively on Billboard. By 2016, the duo released the song, "Capsize," a collaboration with Emily Warren. This track quickly went viral, gaining them even more attention.
Surpassing 360+ million streams on Spotify, the streaming service named this song one of their top picks for the summer of 2016. This track also reached number on Hype Machine. It also peaked the charts in the United States, Canada, Germany, Italy, Norway and the UK before the track went platinum in Sweden, New Zealand and Australia.
Reaching No. 17 in Norway, this is no surprise as their debut track "Knives" was produced by Matoma, a Norwegian tropical house producer. Their songs always have a feel-good vibe to them, drawing fans in both online and at shows. Creating a buzz for themselves, they are one of the few artists to independently release a song.
