
Gabriel Iglesias, known to fans as "Fluffy," is a stand-up comedian and actor whose career took shape in Southern California. Born July 15, 1976, in San Diego, California, he grew up across the region and spent much of his youth in Long Beach. He is of Mexican heritage and was raised by his mother, and he worked for a cell phone company in Los Angeles before going full-time into comedy in 1997.
Iglesias appeared on Nickelodeon's All That in 2000 and competed on the fourth season of Last Comic Standing in 2006, reaching the final eight. He built a following through stand-up specials for Comedy Central and Netflix, starting with Hot and Fluffy in 2008 and I'm Not Fat, I'm Fluffy in 2009. He created and hosted Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand Up Revolution from 2011 to 2014, starred as the title character in the Netflix sitcom Mr. Iglesias from 2019 to 2020, and voiced Speedy Gonzales in Space Jam: A New Legacy in 2021. On the big screen, he played Tobias in Magic Mike in 2012 and its sequel Magic Mike XXL in 2015.
On stage, Iglesias is known for observational comedy, easygoing storytelling, and a roster of impressions, with his trademark Hawaiian shirts and the catchphrase "I'm not fat, I'm fluffy" built into the act. In 2022, he became the first comedian to sell out Dodger Stadium, and the performance was released on Netflix as Stadium Fluffy. In March 2026, he and Jo Koy co-hosted a comedy show at SoFi Stadium that drew the largest crowd in history for a stand-up comedy performance.
