GRiZ is a producer, DJ, vocalist and saxophonist from Detroit, Michigan. His real name is Grant Kwiecinski. He is known for his style of music which he calls "future funk." It's a mix of dubstep and funk music that helped him rise into stardom in the mid-2010s. He first started making music on his computer while he was a student at Michigan State University, eventually dropping out of school to pursue a career in music on a full-time basis. GRiZ first started gaining some popularity after the release of his debut album in 2011 called End of the World Party.
The Lowdown on All Good Music
All Good Music is a record label that Kwiecinski created to help promote his music and the music of some of his producer friends. Some of the first groups on the label include funk-electro acts like The Floozies, Manic Focus and GRiZ's live guitar player Muzzy Bear. Each album made by GRiZ and other artists on the label is available as a free download on the site. The music and shows played by GRiZ are helped by promotion with his street team, affectionately called Liberators. Liberators also help GRiZ raise money for his charitable cause, the "12 Days of GRiZmas."
