Hare Squead Tickets
Pronounced Hair Skwed, Hare Squead is a three-man band from Dublin, in the Republic of Ireland. They have what they call “an eclectic love affair with music”. The members channel this enthusiasm for beats, harmonies and insistent hooks into what has variously been described as an infectious or dominating pop sound. Noted for their energetic, not to say raucous live shows, the three members got to know one another through mutual interests outside of making music. These, they say, included a love of skating, flexing and general bonhomie.
Songwriters as well as performers, the three members of Hare Squead are E-Knock, Tony Konstone and Jessy Rose. Each has been trained in music from a young age and brings something unique to the band's style and sound. The band is signed to Sony Music Entertainment.
Hare Squead's releases
During their career to date, Hare Squead has released just one EP, by the name of Supernormal. This release contains the pulsating “Long Way to Go” and “Loco”. It also features the popular “Herside Story”. Each of the tracks features a promotional video and has been made available for digital download. The EP received critical praise from the music press, who noted the songs on the release were quirky and had similarities to Drake's style. Featuring fast rapping over some chilled-out beats, the EP has caused some to wonder if the vocalisations have been artificially sped up in the recording studio. Such speculation has, thus far, not led to any solid answers.
Following on from Supernormal, the trio released another song for digital download, this time just a single. The song is named “Pure” and again features Hare Squead's trademark style of hip-hop rapping over chill rhythms. Marking something of a departure from their previous work, the song includes some reflective lyrics, which steer away from the general positivity and sheer zest for life of their previous efforts. The rap collective has plans to launch their second EP, to be called Season 2, which, it is said, will include “Pure”. The band has performed in their home city of Dublin and in London. They have also toured across Europe with Dua Lipa, an English singer and songwriter.
Hare Squead's praise
The New Musical Express magazine singled out Hare Squead for attention in 2016. They were listed as one of a hundred new bands to keep an eye on in the forthcoming year. Their skate park, happy-go-lucky style of rap has been likened to Outkast and Odd Future, among others.
