Helen Hayes Theater, often called just Hayes Theater, is a legendary Broadway theater located in midtown Manhattan. The venue name "Helen Hayes" (after the actress) was first given in 1955 to the Fulton Theatre, a midtown theater erected in 1911 and demolished in 1982. In 1983, a theater formerly known as the Little Theatre/New York Times Hall adopted the name Helen Hayes Theatre, subsequently amended to Hayes Theater in 2008. The current Hayes Theater is in the same building that opened in 1912 under a previous name. At a capacity of roughly 580 seats, it is the smallest Broadway theater in all of New York city. It has presented stars in concert, classic shows and new shows, such as Mandy Patinkin, Dear Evan Hensen and Rock of Ages. It once served as a TV studio where both ABC news and, later, The Merv Griffin Show taped. Score the best seats to any Helen Hayes Theater production at Stubhub today.
