High & Low Festival background
The inaugural High & Low Festival took place in 2017 at the NOS Event Center in San Bernardino, California. Two stages -- the main stage and the side stage -- featured local bands and international artists. Apart from the music up on stage, the Hard Times comedy tent featured stand-ups and live comics who entertained the crowds. There were also merch stands, food and drink trucks, and places to sit down and relax.
Getting to the event was easy: NOS Event Center is close to San Bernandino's hotels and cultural attractions. Downtown Riverside is just 10 miles away.
High & Low Festival history
Brand New headlined the main stage at the first-ever High & Low Festival. The Long Island, New York-based group brought their unique brand of indie rock and pop punk to San Bernardino, with a set that included their biggest hits: "I Will Play My Game Beneath the Spin Light," "You Won't Know," "Can't Get It Out," "Gasoline." Brand New played these songs and more at the event.
Death Cab for Cutie also appeared on the main stage. The alt-rock band from Bellingham, Washington, impressed ticket holders with an 11-song set that featured the tracks "Title and Registration," "Soul Meets Body," "The Ghosts of Beverly Drive" and "Doors Unlocked and Open." Tegan and Sara were on the roster, too. This Canadian pop duo delighted fans with a stellar set that included the songs "I Couldn't Be Your Friend," "Shock to Your System" and "Back in Your Head." Other acts on the main stage included Kevin Devine, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness and Best Coast.
Over on the side stage, Canadian rock band PUP performed tracks from their self-titled debut and sophomore release, The Dream is Over. Some of the group's most popular tracks include "If This Tour Doesn't Kill You, I Will," "Sleep In The Heat" and "Old Wounds." Indie rock group Citizen also made an appearance. The band played songs from their three studio albums -- Youth, Everybody Is Going to Heaven and As You Please -- and wowed the crowd with an energetic set. Other acts on the side stage included Cloud Nothings, Jessica Hernandez and the Deltas and Elder Brother.
