The showcase was also known by its full name, the Air Force Reserve Hoophall Miami Invitational. The event was last held in December 2018 in Miami, Fla., and headlined the University of Miami as the single team from Florida. The showcase bracket was organized by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and the live event was presented by Citi. The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is a nonprofit organization, also known as Hoophall, with a mission of promoting and celebrating the game of basketball at all levels of play in the community. The eight participating schools in 2018 included the University of Miami, Yale University, Georgia Tech, St. John's University, North Carolina State University, Vanderbilt University, Texas Tech University and the University of Memphis. These eight teams were scheduled to play four games during the single full-day event.
