Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions tour dates
Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star and Colm O Ciosoig of My Bloody Valentine started Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions in 2000 to explore musical textures that their primary bands often ignore. During a Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions tour, you can expect to hear a combination of dreamy soundscapes and piercing guitar tones. On many songs, Sandoval uses a glockenspiel or harmonica to soften the abrasive guitar lines.
Hope Sandoval maintains a private life and doesn't like appearing in the spotlight, so her band often performs in dimly lit venues. This approach also puts the focus on the band's music rather than its personnel when they perform at venues like Portland's Wonder Ballroom and Brooklyn's Brooklyn Steel.
Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions albums
Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions have released several albums and EPs since forming in 2000. The band's first release, At the Doorway Again, features four songs from the Bavarian Fruit Bread recording session. Record labels Sanctuary in the United States and Rough Trade in the United Kingdom released Bavarian Fruit Bread in 2001. The album received a reissue in 2009.
Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions followed their debut album with the EP Suzanne in 2002. The band remained silent for several years until its 2009 album Through the Devil Softly. 2016's Until the Hunter included contributions from several musicians, including Kurt Vile, Jim Putnam, Mariee Sioux and Michael Masley. Until the Hunter contains a mixture of dreamy pop songs and long drones. With help from contributors, the group also included innovative psychedelic soul and blues tracks.
