Born in 1999, HRVY is the stage name of Harvey Cantwell, a singer, model and television presenter who has built up a following primarily through his use of social media. HRVY has a regular presence on YouTube, Instagram and Musical.ly, and has almost a million followers on the last of those platforms, along with nearly 1.5 million on Instagram. Originally from Kent, the R&B star signed with Universal Music Group in 2013. After releasing two extended plays in quick succession in 2017, he tours the UK in 2018 to promote his material. Cantwell first came to public prominence when he was selected as a host for the children's entertainment television show, Friday Download. The BAFTA award-winning programme has been broadcast by the BBC since May 2011. Cantwell was hired by Saltbeef Productions, the independent company that made the show, to co-present Friday Download from its seventh series, which first aired in 2014. Cantwell took part in the 'Face Off' section of the show and performed alongside people such as Shannon Flynn, the actress, and Tinchy Stryder, the well-known rap artist. The performer would go on to take part in two further series of Friday Download for the BBC, plus a Christmas special that was put out in 2014. In 2017, the corporation announced that it had no further plans to recommission the show for a tenth series.
Having established himself on TV, Cantwell adopted the name HRVY and concentrated more on his modelling and singing careers. Although the performer had been involved with singing and songwriting as a younger teenager, it was not until July 2017 that his first official release came out. HRVY notified his many fans on social media that he would be putting out an EP named Holiday, and informed his followers of the planned track listing.
Made available for digital download and streaming only, the EP Holiday featured five songs. The title track would appear twice, with both a full arrangement and an acoustic version on offer. "Holiday" included the work of Redfoo, an American rapper and record producer, a performer who is the son of the legendary Motown founder, Berry Gordy. The EP also included the popular "Say Something To Me" In addition, HRVY released two other singles from the EP. The first of these was "La La La La (Means I Love You)" which featured the talents of Stylo G, who is perhaps best known for his hit "Soundbwoy" of 2013. The other single HRVY chose to put out was "Phobia". See him perform live in 2018 when you buy HRVY tickets at StubHub.
Fans of HRVY's take on pop should seek tickets for Little Mix, a band he has toured with, as well as Liam Payne. Both can be found at StubHub.
