I Am Kloot Biography - A Slow Rise to the Top
Manchester musician John Bramwell formed this formidable pop outfit in 1999, recruiting bassist Peter Jobson and drummer Andy Hargreaves to complete the outfit (whose name is a closely guarded secret). Fans of twisted and witty lyrics, the eccentric trio created their first single 'To You' featuring the vocals of Elbow singer Guy Garvey. They released their debut album Natural History in 2001, a record that helped them secure a huge fan base around the North of England.
Their eponymous follow up record followed in 2003 and the 2005 album Gods and Monsters were more commercially successful, but their 2010 album Sky At Night was the one that attracted widespread acclaim from the critics, going on to earn a place on that years Mercury Music Prize shortlist. In 2014 the oddball outfit have enjoyed rejuvenated popularity thanks to the release of their soundtrack album From There to Here for the TV drama series of the same name.
