Jack's Show tickets
"Playing what we want" is the motto of Jack FM, the multinational radio network that showcases the best - and often most random - classic and contemporary pop and rock music. Its annual Los Angeles-based live event sticks to a similar "anything goes" approach. Those with Jack's Show tickets can look forward to an eclectic night of entertainment featuring some of the biggest names of the '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s and beyond.
Jack's Show history
Sponsored by Jack 93.1/FM, the inaugural Jack's Show took place at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre in 2006, where Def Leppard, Cheap Trick, Billy Idol, Journey and Violent Femmes all brought the '80s rock vibes. A year later, a more varied line-up, including rapper Tone-Loc, rockabilly outfit The Stray Cats and Fleetwood Mac songstress Stevie Nicks, took to the stage and set the tone for the next decade of Jack's Show tour dates.
In 2009, George Clinton's legendary collective Parliament-Funkadelic party band, The B-52's, and heavy metallers Ratt all appeared on the same bill. In 2012 four-time Grammy Award winner Pat Benatar shared the stage with baggy-trousered rapper MC Hammer, Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh and new wave stars Missing Persons. A year later, the line-up included hip-hop pioneers The Sugarhill Gang, post-punk outfit The Psychedelic Furs and '80s chart-toppers Berlin.
And the list of impressive names doesn't stop there. Other acts who have graced Jack's Show include The Pretenders, ZZ Top, Blondie, DEVO, REO Speedwagon, Twisted Sister, Eddie Money, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Foreigner, Modern English, Night Ranger, Skid Row, Steve Miller Band, The Fixx, The Sweet, Dramarama, Everclear, Heart, Marcy Playground, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Toto, Adam Ant, Rick Springfield, Billy Squier, Bow Wow Wow, Collective Soul, Naked Eyes, Bush, Cake, Tears for Fears and Chevy Metal.
Jack's Show was forced to relocate after its 2016 event, which welcomed the likes of Garbage, Jane's Addiction and The Cult to the stage, when Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre was demolished to make way for new apartment buildings.
However, as one of Los Angeles' premier one-day rock events, Jack's Show soon found a new home, Irvine's FivePoint Amphitheatre. Located adjacent to the Orange County Great Park, the temporary 12,000-capacity venue opened in October 2017 with a performance from Young the Giant, just days before the radio network's annual bash came to town.
Jack's 12th Show invited several Californian acts to kick off proceedings, including hip-hop icons Cypress Hill and pop punks Lit, The Offspring and Eve 6, with alt-rockers The Gin Blossoms and 311 completing the all-star line-up.
