Headed by identical twins Brandon and Brian Casey, the R&B quartet Jagged Edge has been showcasing its Soul Train Award-winning style for more than two decades, charting their own top hits while also writing for established stars like Usher, Nivea and Toni Braxton.
Jagged Edge has become one of the most influential groups on the R&B music scene. Their first single, "The Way That You Talk," introduced their unique style to R&B fans in 1995. The group followed that with their 1997 debut album A Jagged Era, which was recognized among Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. It saw No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers Chart.
J.E. Heartbreak produced the single "Let's Get Married," which topped the R&B charts and went to No. 11 on the Hot 100. Jagged Little Thrill showcased the up-tempo "Where the Party At," which went to No. 1 on the R&B charts and No. 3 on the Hot 100. They followed this with another gold album in 2003, Hard.
The group parted ways with their production partners at Columbia Records in 2006 and returned to its roots with So So Def and producer Jermaine Dupri. Jagged Edge later signed with Slip-N-Slide Records to collaborate with R&B artists such as Rick Ross and Trina and Gucci Mane. In 2014, they released their eighth studio album, J.E. Heartbreak II, a follow-up to their multi-platinum second release.
Jagged Edge has seen nominations from most of the major industry awards organizations, including the American Music Awards, BET Awards and the Grammys. Their first win came in 2001, when they took home the Soul Train Award for Best R&B/Soul Single and Album by a group, band or duo.
Jagged Edge nominations include three American Music Award Favorite Soul/R&B Band/Duo/Group, three BET Awards for Best Group and a Grammy award nomination for collaboration with Nelly.
