James Biography - Tim Booth and Co are Back on Tour
The band was formed by Paul Gilbertson and Jim Glennie in a Manchester suburb in 1982, with Gavan Whelan recruited on drums after they realised the potential of their musical project. A few early impromptu gigs later, they stumbled across the enigmatic Tim Booth and quickly hired him as their new lead singer. Dominating the Pre-Britpop world, the group's songwriting talents and sing-a-long tunes saw them break through to commercial success, with tracks like 'Sit Down', 'She's a Star', 'Laid' and 'Sound' proving their pop pedigree.
2016 sees the release of their 14th record, Girl at the End of the World, with the great producer Max Dingel - of Muse and The Killers fame - at the helm. It also features a collaboration with the great Brian Eno, as well as a shedload of fantastic tunes. To catch them perform their latest music, get your James tickets at StubHub UK now.
