Her poetry is heavily influenced by Frida Kahlo, among other muses, and she also works on putting together anthologies themed on black feminism. Jamila finally began her music career in earnest with the release of her debut album "Heavn" (2016). The album included songs "Bubbles", "Emerald Street" and title track "Heavn", and cemented her identity as a true role model for black women in America – and right around the world.
