Jane B. Moore Field, originally called the Auburn Softball Complex, is located at 795 W. Samford Avenue in Auburn, Alabama, and is the home field for the softball team of the Auburn University Tigers. Auburn's softball team plays in the Southeast Conference (SEC). Teams from the University of Alabama, Louisiana State University and the University of Florida are among those that compete with Auburn in the SEC. Auburn has won the conference softball title twice-in 2015 and 2016. The Auburn Tigers have played softball at the on-campus field since 1998. The team played their first full season at the updated field in 2003. What improvements have been made to Jane B. Moore Field?
First, the landscape architectural company French and Associates was contracted to improve the playing surface. The firm had demonstrated its prowess by designing fields that had hosted the NCAA Women's College World Series and the Summer Olympic Games Softball competition. The final phase of the softball complex added 1,400 seats, indoor batting cages, a concession area and a press box with two luxury boxes.
Has additional seating be added to the venue?
Yes, following the Tiger's appearance in the 2015 Women's College World Series competition, the seating was shown to be inadequate for the team's surging popularity. A total of 821 additional seats were added down the first and third base lines to accommodate the sold-out crowds.
Where is parking available for events at Jane B Moore Field?
Recommended parking areas for softball games are the McWhorter Center lot on the corner of Biggio Drive and Samford Avenue, across the street from Jane B. Moore Field on Biggio Drive around the Intramural Fields and the gravel lot behind home plate. Overflow parking is on Biggio Drive, north of Samford Avenue at Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum and the Old Track. Handicapped parking is available directly across the street from the field along Biggio Drive.
What if a game is postponed or canceled?
All paid admission tickets to a postponed Auburn softball game can be used for the announced make-up game. Subject to some restrictions, paid admission tickets to a postponed game can also be exchanged for tickets to a future regular season game. Paid admission tickets to a softball game that is canceled can be exchanged for tickets to a future regular season non-conference game or some select Sunday SEC games. All arrangements are subject to availability. The original ticket from the canceled game is required to be presented at the time of exchange. No refunds will be given.
Can I bring food into Jane B. Moore Field?
No outside food is permitted at Jane B. Moore Field, but concessions are available. Restaurants, sandwich shops and fast food selections are close to the venue for before or after a game.Back to Top
