Jaws: Indie superstars in the making
An indie pop band from the West Midlands, Jaws first got going in 2012. The group's singer, Connor Schofield, posted a demo track called "Cameron" online and was inundated with suggestions that he put together a live act to be able to perform it. Recruiting the necessary musicians from within his circle of friends at Halesowen College in Birmingham, Schofield was joined by Alex Hudson on lead guitar and Eddy Geach on drums. The group's original fourth member, bassist Jake Cooper, departed in 2015.
Often tipped as upcoming indie superstars, the band have released two EPs and two full length LPs so far, along with appearing at medium-major size UK festivals. Don't miss your chance to see one of music's hottest new artists, buy Jaws tickets at StubHub.
Jaws: prolific writers and producers
After getting together as a result of the Internet-based feedback that Schofield had received, the members of Jaws soon discovered that they were being hotly tipped for future success as part of the so-called B-Town music scene that centred on up-and-coming indie bands from the city; notably, the Digbeth area. Operating as a band, Jaws made a couple of singles available for digital download in 2012, "Toucan Surf" and "Surround You" released in August and December, respectively.
In 2013, Jaws kicked things off with "Friend Like You", a single that was backed with the popular "Breeze". As the group continued to hone their sound and play more live gigs and festivals, the band discovered that certain tracks, such as "Stay In", were being noticed by the likes of computer game manufacturers who wanted their songs to appear on their soundtracks. In April 2013, Milkshake was released, featuring many of the tracks that had already appeared as singles. A short run of vinyl 12-inch records was pressed for the EP, which contained a total of six songs. A reissue of the EP came about in December of 2013, when it was pressed onto pink vinyl. Also on sale in Japan, the Asian version of the recording only came out on CD. Between the pressings of Milkshake, another EP called Gold was released, offering further insights into the band's songwriting development.
In April 2014, "Think Too Much, Feel Too Little" was released for digital download only. Further single, including "Be Slowly" and "Swim" were also put out by the prolific group. By September of that year, Jaws' debut studio album was ready to be unleashed on the public. Be Slowly was made available on CD and vinyl, as well as in a digital format, and was a huge critical success. Further singles followed in 2015, many of which were drawn from the band's forthcoming second album. Simplicity was released in 2016 and includes tracks such as "Right In Front Of Me" as well as "Work It Out".
