Six-time Latin Grammy Award winners Jesse and Joy have developed a knack for crafting catchy, soulful pop songs. The sibling duo has headlined sold-out shows in North and South America, accumulating a massive following on both continents.
Jesse and Joy's history
Born in Mexico City to an American mother and Mexican father, Jesse Eduardo and Tirzah Joy Huerta Uecke grew up bilingual and with an appreciation for Johnny Cash, Pedro Infante and Carole King. Their 2006 debut album, Esta Es Mi Vida, yielded the hit single "Espacio Sideral." However, it wasn't until their third album, Con Qui̩n Se Queda El Perro?, that they felt their sound was truly captured. Working with producer Martin Terefe, Jesse and Joy were able to capture the same intimacy of a live performance on their record.
The strength of their fourth album, Un Besito Ms, netted them a 2016 Latin Grammy Award.
Jesse and Joy's biggest hits
"No Soy Una de Esas" with Alejandro Sanz hit No. 3 on the U.S. Latin Pop charts, and No. 2 on the Mexico Top 100. The single helped propel their album Un Besito Ms to the No. 1 spot on the U.S. Latin Pop and U.S. Latin charts, as well as the No. 5 record for the Mexico Top 100. Con Qui̩n Se Queda El Perro? achieved No. 3 on the Mexico Top 100, but didn't have the same crossover appeal in the U.S. However, that album did launch three Mexico Top 100 No. 1 singles: "Corre!," "La de la Mala Suerte" and "Con QuQui̩ne Queda El Perro?"
