Jim Ross's one-man show keeps die-hard wrestling fans on the edge of their seats with rarely heard anecdotes about Stone Cold Steve Austin, John Cena and other familiar names. He offers a unique take on the real world of wrestling, complete with his take on several of the sport's most memorable moments. During this captivating show, fans see a different side of this consummate professional and get a better sense of his real personality - rather than witnessing more of his on-screen persona.
Jim Ross' background
Often referred to as Good Ol' J.R., Jim Ross has clearly made his mark as a wrestling commentator and talent executive. He first made a name for himself as a commentator in the NWA Tri-State territory, which later became Mid-South Wrestling. During this period, he called the NWA World Heavyweight Championship featuring Ted DiBiase and Ric Flair. This fight -- and Ross's ringside contribution -- is still highly regarded by diehard wrestling enthusiasts.
After working his way up the ladder at World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Ross joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). He hosted a variety of pay-per-views and other programs, eventually turning heel. He cemented his status as one of the commentating greats while appearing beside Jerry "The King" Lawler on WWE Monday Night Raw. He then began to play an increasingly integral role in hiring new talent, helping the powers that be at WWE determine whether new wrestlers will appeal to fans from a personality standpoint. Despite occasionally departing WWE, he has always returned to great fanfare.
