A native of Aguascalientes, Mexico, the singer-songwriter got his love of music from his mother. It was her who inspired him to learn how to hum and compose his own songs. At 9 years old, he penned "Esta Tarde" and performed it with his mother. Despite not having formal training in music, Napoleon continued honing his skills while maintaining part-time jobs.
Napoleon�s singing career started after he competed in a national competition that would choose the Mexican representative to the 1977 OTI Festival. While luck was not on his side during the competition, he attracted the attention of recording executives. He was 20 years old when he released his first single "El Grillo" and was instantly followed by his debut album. The singer easily gained a following and popularity due to his charisma. His songs were a favorite on radio airwaves as well as on on-screen and on-stage performances.

The balada singer loved for his songs that clearly depict the struggles of love and life in Mexico. He produced the first wave of his biggest hits in the 1970s and the 1980s. The songs "Pajarillo," "Le�a Verde" and "Eres" established him as one of the biggest names in the balada movement sweeping the country during those decades.
His move to Ariola, a BMG company, further cemented his name on the Latin music scene. It was through this recording company that he released his most iconic albums Tiempo al Tiempo in 1983 and the 1986 �Aventurero!.
Napoleon continued to be relevant in the 2000s as evidenced by his Top Latin chart appearance. His albums Serie Max in 2005 and Vire in 2016 both placed within the top 10 of the Latin Pop album charts during their respective releases.

Napoleon�s venture to acting is perhaps the biggest gamble he took since leaving his hometown for Mexico City. The telenovela "Variedades de Media Noche" provided him his first acting stint where he played a singer. His acting career continued and saw him playing roles in more telenovelas including "Al Rojo Vivo," "El Privilegio de Amar" and "Mi Verdad."
