Knocked Loose started playing together in 2011, but the band didnt officially form until two years later. They developed a fan base by playing live before releasing their debut EP, Pop Culture, in 2014 through Little Heart Records. As their music started to gain attention, Knocked Loose began touring in 2017 with Hollow Earth. They also toured the U.K. later that same year.
Members include the lead singer Bryan Garris, Cole Crutchfield who plays the guitar and provides the background vocals, Kevin Otten on bass, Kevin Kaine on drums and Isaac Hale on the guitar. In addition to the guitar, Hale provides background vocals as well.
Knocked Loose has developed a large social media following on sites such as Twitter and Spotify. Alongside their music, Knocked Loose also sells merchandise, which includes Knocked Loose T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, beanies, shorts, windbreakers, bags, caps and flags.
Before their first studio album, Knocked Loose released EPs and splits in 2014 and 2015. It wasnt until 2016 that they signed with Pure Noise Records and released their first studio album, Laughed Loose, which came out in September of 2016. A music video accompanied the release of the Laughed Loose album, and it showcases their two songs Billy Mates and Counting Worms. Later, a second music video was released for the track, Rain. You can also find additional videos to their music like a music video for Last Words, Deadringer and The Gospel.
Their music has been described by New Noise Magazine as being a fusion of the hardcore band ComeBack Kid, thrash legends Slayer and metalcore heroes Code Orange. Besides falling under the hardcore punk genre, Knocked Loose's music can also be categorized under the subgenres of metalcore and beatdown hardcore. The band has stated that they do not want to be pigeonholed into one genre, however, and prefer to play diverse styles.
