Kool Savas Tickets
Discover the German rapper Kool Savas
Kool Savas is the stage name of Savaş Yurderi, who was born in 1975 in Aachen, Germany, the son of a Turkish father and a German mother. Kool Savas is a household name in German rap, having been one of the precursors of the battle rap movement in the country. He has been compared to American rapper Eminem and is considered one of the most influential rappers in Germany. He was part of the famous rap duo Westberlin Maskulin, alongside artist Taktloss, in the late 90s, and was one of founders of the 1996 crew Masters of Rap. He has collaborated with artists like Sido and Azad on some of his most commercially successful projects. Savas is still very active and influential on the scene, selling out venues and performing extensively. See what he’s up to with Kool Savas tickets, or list your tickets for sale here on StubHub.
His musical trajectory
Kool Savas’s albums, both solo and in collaboration with other artists, have received much critical acclaim and were a success with audiences not only in Germany but around the world. They have reached the top positions in the charts and received a number of awards, including the Gold Record for over 100,000 sales of his third album, "Aura", released in 2011. In the years after that, Kool Savas continued to release music under his own label, Essah Media, and appeared in projects with different artists. Although he has enjoyed a successful and profitable career, that’s not to say his work hasn’t had its share of controversy, like that of many rappers in his scene. Kool Savas’s political involvement
Although Savas was born in Germany, his family moved to Turkey when he was a baby. Some time later, he and his mother had to move back to Germany after his father was arrested for being a political dissenter in Turkey. Unsurprisingly, Savas also became involved in political demonstrations in his teens, namely against Nazism and racism. Today he is very active spokesperson for vegetarianism and the anti-drug movement, and is involved in a number of social projects. Not a lot of his early work carries a political message, but since his 2002 album, "Der beste Tag meines Lebens" ("The Best Day of My Life"), it has been a recurring a theme in some of his songs.
