Helldorado Days History
It was all the way back in 1934 when Clyde Zerby first organized the Helldorado Days, celebrating some of the nation's pioneer roots right in one of the beacons of the West, Las Vegas. As the city grew into a focal point of the United States' entertainment scene in the decades that followed, Helldorado Days grew substantially as well, adding a full-scale rodeo a decade later and plenty of other peripheral events that have helped make the festival what it is today. After a brief cessation from 1998 through 2005, Helldorado Days is also back and better than ever, creating plenty of incentive to join in the excitement as fans turn up from all over to catch Helldorado Days each and every spring.

What was the inspiration for starting Helldorado Days?
Back in the 1930s, as workers on the Hoover Dam began leaving, many Las Vegas locals were worried that Vegas would actually end up a ghost town, leading Clyde Zerby to start up Helldorado Days as an effort to keep Hoover Dam workers from leaving.
