All is not lost for Led Zeppelin fans who wait in vain for their favorite band to reunite. Led Zeppelin 2: The Live Experience is the next best thing. With Bruce Lamont as lead singer Robert Plant, Paul Kamp as guitar legend Jimmy Page, Ian Lee as the late drummer Jon Bonham, and Matthew Longbons as bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones, the foursome has been bringing Led Zeppelin's trademark classic rock to venues such as Chicago's House of Blues for more than a decade.
Led Zeppelin 2 traces its roots back to 2006, when former bassist Chris Klein founded the group with the goal of recreating the ambiance and energy of an authentic Led Zeppelin concert. Despite Klein's departure in 2011, the band remains committed to its original vision of recreating the Led Zeppelin experience.
The band members' mutual favorite record is Physical Graffiti, but Led Zeppelin 2 makes an effort to play songs from all eras of the original band's history. Their shows often feel like musical theater: the act involves costumes, custom lighting and acting.
