The Levitate Music Festival started in 2013 as a 10th-anniversary party for Levitate Surf and Skate Shop based out of Marshfield, Massachusetts. The store and apparel line had been a local institution for a decade before the first Levitate Music and Arts Festival. Now beginning its seventh year, the Levitate Music Festival concerts continue to bring the best in reggae, jam-rock, soul and funk music to the Marshfield Fairgrounds every summer.
Community Participation at the Levitate Music Festival Concerts
Giving back to the community ranks No. 1 among the goals of the Levitate Music Festival promoters. The grassroots festival welcomes members of non-profit organizations to participate in their events. In 2019, water for the festival was provided by Everybody Water, a company that fights for access to clean water throughout the world. The entire Marshfield community participates in the planning of the music festival each year.
