As the air warms and the days grow longer, the busy summer concert season also starts to heat up. Memorial Day has come and gone, so as far as we’re concerned, it is officially the best time of the year for concerts. Thus, StubHub is here to guide fans through the best of the music scene, all summer long. For the fifth year in a row, we’ve compiled our Top-10 most in-demand artists fans should be sure not to miss this summer. Drumroll, please…

2019 Top Selling Summer Acts Overall

Based on total sales on StubHub for U.S. tour dates from Memorial Day to Labor Day 2019

“This summer music season stands out with the widest generational representation of artists we’ve ever seen at StubHub,” said Jeff Poirier, General Manager of Music for StubHub. “Seeing veteran acts like The Rolling Stones, Queen and Paul McCartney top the list is something we’ve come to expect. Coming off of BTS’s reign at the beginning of the year, it’s refreshing to continue to see young faces and emerging genres drive significant demand as represented by Billie Eilish and JoJo Siwa’s presence on the list.”

This year, the Rolling Stones top the list of the most in-demand acts this summer. As frontman Mick Jagger returns to the stage after surgery, fans are eager to see his legendary moves live. Let’s face it, we never really know when it might be the Stones’ final run, so you’ve got to see them when you can. Let’s break down more highlights of the 2019 Top 10:

Paint it Black: The Stones are Back

  • The Rolling Stones lead is strong with 45% more sales than 2018’s #1 act, Taylor Swift. Even with just 16 show dates scheduled over the summer months, (the second-fewest number of dates on the list), the Rolling Stones have staggering sales on StubHub.
  • The Stones outpace Queen, who sit in the second-place spot this year, by nearly 52% and have garnered more sales than Queen and Paul McCartney combined – the #2 and #3 acts, respectively.

We Will Still Rock You: Queen Comes in Second

  • Fresh off the success of the Academy Award-winning film, “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Queen hits #2 on the list.
  • The addition of Adam Lambert coupled with the popularity and renewed interest generated by the film, new, younger fans are connecting with this iconic band for the first time and reinvigorating their live shows.
  • Fun Fact: The average age of all members of the members in the top three acts on our Top 10 is 69 years old. Even young buck Adam Lambert couldn’t bring the number down.
  • In other rock ‘n roll news, Twenty One Pilots is the only contemporary rock act to make the list.

Thank U, Next: Ariana is the Summer’s Leading Lady

  • Ariana Grande is the top female on the list at #4, hashtag girl power.
  • Ariana’s 24 shows in the summer season are only half the number of dates as Shawn Mendes who follows her at #5, showing strong demand for each show.

Teens Reign Supreme: Billie and JoJo Make List

  • For the first time since StubHub started the Summer Music Preview in 2015, two teenage artists make the list.
  • With just 20 tour dates, Billie Eilish makes the list at #6, demonstrating the fervor of her new fans.
  • JoJo Siwa is the hardest working act of the Top 10, with the most shows during the Memorial Day to Labor Day period.

Meant to Be: Bands From the South Sneak Into Top 10

  • While George Strait was the only country act on the Top 10 list in 2018, this year’s lone country act on the list is Florida Georgia Line at #10. Yeehaw!
  • At an average ticket price of about $100, South Carolina’s hometown hero group, Hootie and the Blowfish, are the best deal of the summer, so fans have no excuse to skip out on this oldie, but goodie.

But What About BTS?

We know what you’re thinking… where’s BTS?! They’ve been StubHub’s top-selling act so far this year, but, alas, the K-Pop boy band sensation wraps their U.S. tour before our summer dates even start, so they don’t qualify. But K-Pop fans need not fear. There are a few other K-Pop acts hitting the road this summer, and although they didn’t hit our Top 10 list, we’re sure the popularity of this genre will draw big crowds.

  • K-Pop’s most famous girl group, TWICE, is finally making their American debut in three different cities this summer. You go, girls!
  • GOT7 and Monsta X have nine big shows between them before Labor Day, so if you need your summer K-Pop fix, you’ve got opportunities all across the U.S. to check them out.
  • For those who can’t decide which K-Pop artist to see most, the KCON lineup includes a dozen different acts, with two shows in New York and a whopping four shows in LA. K-Pop fans, unite!

We told you, it’s going to be a great summer! There really is something for every generation and musical inclination.
