Love Never Dies is the sequel to the Broadway fan favorite The Phantom of the Opera. Andrew Lloyd Webber, the composer, wants everyone to know that while it is a sequel, anyone can enjoy this standalone storyline whether they've seen Phantom or not.
The musical sees well-loved characters Christine Daaé and Raoul traveling to Coney Island in Brooklyn, NY to participate in a mysterious new attraction there. Little do they know, The Phantom himself invited them, and he has some new tricks up his sleeve. Now fans of Webber's other works can get Love Never Dies San Jose tickets.
Love Never Dies San Jose's history
After premiering in London's renowned West End theater district in 2010, Love Never Dies spread to productions all over the globe. While it has never had an official spot on Broadway itself, a nationwide U.S. tour that started in 2017 brought this romantically twisted show to American fans all over.
Andrew Lloyd Webber, the composer of smash hits like Jesus Christ Superstar, Cats and Evita, began working on this musical in 1990, but it didn't hit any stage until 2010. The basis of the story comes from The Phantom of Manhattan, a book that stems from collaborative ideas between Webber and author Frederick Forsyth on what The Phantom might be up to after the events of Phantom of the Opera.
Love Never Dies San Jose's albums
It is rare for the album of a musical play to be so successful. A concept album of songs from the show hit No. 10 on the top U.K. albums chart and No. 1 in Greece after a 2010 release. It peaked at No. 82 on the Billboard Top 200.
The album also has a deluxe version available with special DVD content with interviews of cast and crew members, and the full libretto.
Love Never Dies San Jose's biggest hits
With Andrew Lloyd Webber's commercial success, his fans have come to expect at least one memorable show-stopping tune in each of his shows. The smash hit of Love Never Dies is the song of the same name. Many notable operatic sopranos, including Katherine Jenkins and Sierra Boggess, have sung and recorded the number. Japanese, Korean and Mandarin singers have made recordings in their native tongues as well.
"'Til I Hear You Sing" is perhaps the most romantic song in the show. The Phantom sings the ballad as he thinks about his long-lost love, Christine.
