Laura Pergolizzi usually goes by LP, a nickname that stuck during her time in New York City, and has become known for her powerful voice. LP is a pop/rock singer, songwriter and composer originally from Huntington, Long Island, New York. She came to the city around the turn of the century, and while some may not know her by name, LP has worked with some of the best-known artists in the pop industry. One major breakthrough came when LP's voice was featured in Rihanna's song "Cheers (Drink to That)." LP has released five of her own albums; the most recent one, Heart to Mouth, was released in 2018. LP puts herself into every performance, impressing fans with her strong vocals and emotional depth.
Changing Gears After "Cheers" and "Beautiful People"
In addition to helping Rihanna write "Cheers" (released in 2010), LP helped Christina Aguilera co-write "Beautiful People." The song, which appeared in Burlesque, also released in 2010. During her time in New York City, LP seemed to be writing more for others than for herself. When she relocated to LA, she found more time to work on her own music and picked up the ukulele again. She performed a lot during this time, and she even recorded a popular song titled "Into the Wild" in 2011. LP toured a lot in 2012, attending Bonnaroo, Tropfest and Bumbershoot festivals - along with making trips to London and Tokyo. She didn't release her next album, Forever for Now, however, until 2014.
Where can I buy LP tickets?
To witness the connection she has with her audience, consider setting aside the end of summer to attend one of her events. Tickets to witness the full LP concert are available at StubHub.
Is there a LP tour in 2019?
LP is currently touring in Europe. Nearing the end of the summer, she will be returning to North America for a few appearances. She will be in Canada, the United States and Mexico as autumn approaches, and it's likely she will bring a full house wherever she performs.
What can I expect from LP?
LP has quite a range, and with this, she has yet to disappoint. She shares a common emotional thread with her fans, and LP has a way of enthralling an audience with her lively performance as much as her stunning vocal abilities. Although she is known as a pop/rock singer-songwriter, LP isn't afraid of adding some funky rhythm or opera-like vocals. Still, her songs carry her signature, each easy to identify with and each sounding like they came from one willing to test the boundaries of her creations.
What is an LP setlist like?
Her most recent tour's purpose is to spread the release of her newest album, Heart to Mouth. This album was released in 2018, but it is likely she will find time to deliver on some older tunes like "Lost on You" or "Muddy Waters."
How long is an LP concert?
Those wishing to experience an LP concert should set aside an evening to attend and reflect on her performance (and maybe more depending on traveling arrangements).
