Mahoning Valley Scrappers Tickets
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers are the Short-Season Class-A affiliate for the Cleveland Indians. The team was established before the 1999 season as an expansion team in the New York-Penn League after the Erie SeaWolves transitioned to Double-A ball. The Scrappers experienced success in the New York-Penn League immediately, appearing in the league championship series in each of their first two seasons of existence. The Scrappers finally won their first championship in 2004 after going 42-34 for the year. In 2009, the Scrappers took their league-best 49-27 record back to the championship series but came up just short of their second league title. The team would miss the playoffs for the next seven seasons, but rebounded with back-to-back postseason berths in 2017 and 2018. While the Mahoning Valley Scrappers came up a little short in 2019, they are looking to bounce back in 2020. Eastwood Field, home of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, has the distinction of possibly being the only professional baseball stadium that is at a shopping mall. The 6,000-seat stadium, opened in 1999, is actually located in the parking lot of the massive Eastwood Mall. As far as concessions go, the stadium offers typical ballpark fare, but it also has a Chick-fil-A and the local eatery, Quaker Stake. While the stadium's location in a mall parking lot does limit what it offers as far as a nice view, you are within walking distance of entertainment, shopping and eating before or after the game.Do the Mahoning Valley Scrappers have any major rivals?
The Mahoning Valley Scrappers' primary rival is the Williamsport Crosscutters. Both squads are members of the Pickney Division of the New York-Penn League and will face each other in the upcoming season.Who is the manager of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers?
Luke Carlin will be returning as the manager of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers for the 2020 season. Carlin managed the Scrappers in 2017 when the team won the Pinckney Division and put up a record of 44-29. Before entering the world of coaching, Carlin enjoyed a playing career that spanned 15 years. Over the course of those 15 seasons, Carlin appeared in 56 Major League games for the Padres, the Indians and the Diamondbacks. Upon retiring, Carlin served as an assistant coach for the Akron RubberDucks in 2016 before being named the Mahoning Valley manager for 2017. Coach Carlin has spent the last two seasons as the manager of the Lake County Captains. Carlin inherits a Scrappers' squad that went 37-39 in 2019 and missed the postseason for the first time in three seasons.Where can I buy Mahoning Valley Scrappers tickets?
