A seasonal (May through September) concert series brings big-name musical acts to the most-lauded poolside setting in Las Vegas -- the Mandalay Bay Resort Beach. The unique outdoor venue finds guests lounging on the sand, splashing in the surf and sipping cool cocktails in private cabanas while listening to great live music.
Mandalay Bay Beach is one of the most notable features of the 3,211-room, AAA Four Diamond Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on the world-famous Las Vegas Strip. The hotel opened in March 1999 on a site formerly occupied by the Hacienda. The old property was imploded on New Year's Eve in 1996 to make room for the huge new resort.
The Mandalay Bay Resort Beach's summer concert series brings a diverse range of musical acts to an outdoor stage overlooking the wave pool. Past acts have included the Beach Boys, REO Speedwagon and Cypress Hill. Among the series' lineups are two-day events, such as 2017's Academy of Country Music Awards' Bash at the Beach, featuring a party atmosphere and live performances by renowned country stars. The schedule also features special events such as '80s and '90s revival nights and stops on the national tours of a variety of popular performers across all genres.
The Mandalay Bay Resort Beach is a unique setting for live music -- 11 acres of outdoor space with tropical landscaping, a beach made of 2,700 tons of real sand, a quarter-mile lazy river and four pools (including a 1.6 million-gallon wave pool). The venue also offers 100 cabanas, bungalows, villas and day beds to rent. Cabana services include massages, dining, food and drink service, plus a stocked refrigerator and flat-screen television. All guests have access to the Beach Bar and Grill and the Bikini Bar.
For the 2017 concert season, the Mandalay Bay Resort Beach introduced the Beachfront Experience, which gives guests access to an exclusive area of the beach with lounge chair seating, along with cocktail service and no-wait entry to the venue.
Las Vegas, Nevada, visitors who are catching a summer concert at the Mandalay Bay Resort Beach don't need to venture far to find other live entertainment offerings. The resort is also home to the Mandalay Bay Beach Resort Event Center, a 12,000-seat sports and entertainment venue, and the House of Blues Music Hall, which presents live performances by an eclectic range of artists that includes well-known bands and emerging stars. The Strip is also the place to be for anyone who wants to check out Vegas' other famous mega-hotels and casinos with all their world-class entertainment offerings. Among them are Luxor, Paris Las Vegas, The Venetian and Caesar's Palace.
Despite what the name of the resort suggests, the island city of Mandalay in Myanmar does not feature any bays.
